Marjorie H. Rakestraw, 84, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Regency Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio.

She was born on December 31, 1927, to the late Elisha (EK) and Abby Haynes in Freeman, West Virginia.

After graduating from Marshall University in Elementary Education, she was recruited to teach in Elyria, Ohio where she met her husband, Jim in 1952.

Married on June 20, 1953 - Marjorie enjoyed raising her family on Roosevelt Avenue in Elyria.

Upon Jim's retirement, they moved to Maumee in 1985 and lived on West Harrison Avenue.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim in 1990, and in-laws, Owen and Bernita. Marjorie was last of the Haynes children.

Preceding her in death were her sisters, Reba and Virginia; brothers, Guy, Louis, Paul, Ray, Ralph, and Ron.

Left to cherish her memory is her children, Jim (Beth) Rakestraw and Julie (Dave) Kause; grandchildren, Hunter and Catherine Reams, Jeny, Doug and Katie Gullufsen and Matthew (Vanessa) Kause; great-grandchildren, Brittany Gullufsen, Noah Childress, Peyton Seward and Audrey Kause. Marjorie was a blessing to her family devoted to her husband, children, brothers, sisters and parents all her life.

She is missed.
