Reba L. Haynes, 88, of Freeman, Mercer County, died May 24, 1997, in Westwood Healthcare Center, Bluefield, Va., after a short illness.

She was a member of Bramwell Methodist Church and Anna King Circle. She was a retired elementary schoolteacher, having taught at Mayberry, Durhing, Rock and Bramwell elementary schools.

Surviving: sister, Marjorie H. Rakestraw of Maumee, Ohio; brothers, Lewis C. Haynes of Bluefield, E. Paul Haynes of Freeman, Ray P. Haynes of King William, Va., Ronald L. Haynes of Fraziers Bottom.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Bluewell, with Dr. Kenneth Powell officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bramwell Methodist Church or charity of choice. Mercer Funeral Home, Bluefield, is in charge of arrangements.
