Mrs. Carter had been a resident of Tippecanoe County most of her life. She had worked for a local dry cleaner and had also cleaned houses for several years. She enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales.
Surviving are a son, Michael (wife Anna) Carter of Otterbein; two sisters, Mildred Haughn and Rosemary Johnson, both of Lafayette; two brothers, James Bowyer and Frank "Pete" Bowyer, both of West Lafayette; a granddaughter, Becky Spikes; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
