Mildred Edna "Millie" Bowyer Haughn, 86, died at 9:30 AM Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005, at University Place in West Lafayette. Born Feb. 12, 1919, in Lafayette, she was a life resident of this area. She married Lawrence J. "Curly" Haughn on Aug. 21, 1939, in Lafayette. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1991.

Mrs. Haughn had been a tuition assistant for Lafayette Catholic schools a number of years and also worked in various positions at St. Mary Cathedral, where she was a member. She also was a member of St. Mary Altar Society, Eagles Auxiliary 347, the Catholic Daughters of America and Mother Theresa Helpers.

Surviving are a son, John L. "Jack" Haughn (wife: Donna) of The Villages, FL; two brothers, James Bowyer of Lafayette and Frank Bowyer of Battle Ground; and one sister, Rosemary Johnson of Lafayette; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by three sisters, one brother.

Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Lafayette, from 5-8 PM Monday, Aug. 29, with Rosary at 4:45 PM Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM Tuesday, Aug. 30, St. Mary Cathedral, with Fathers Ambrose Ziegler and Dan Gartland officiating; interment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
