James E. "Red" Adams, 82, Windber, formerly of Stoystown, died June 7, 2006, at Windber Medical Center. Born Dec. 20, 1923, in Templeton, a son of Robert and Isabelle (Curtis) Adams. Preceded in death by parents; a daughter, Colleen K. Adams; Brothers, Arthur and Robert; sisters Mary, Margaret, Dorothy and Mertie; and two infant sisters. Survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Lois Kutfch; children, Connie Adams of Johnstown, Charles, married to the former Deborah Buchanan, Stoystown, John, married to the former Linda Meyers, Hooversville, and Donna, married to Earl Keihl, Davidsville; 13 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren. Brother of Lucille Ellsworth, Pittsburgh; and Charles Adams, Kittanning. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a World War II army veteran. Also a retired farmer, coal miner and a member of the UMWA. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Don Kephart officiating. Interment at Otterbein Cemetery, Wilbur.
