Funeral services for Carl T. Anderson were held on Thursday, Dec. 14, 1961 at 2 p.m. from Anderson Funeral Home, Rev. Neal Pearson officiating. Interment was in Kinkead cemetery. The pallbearers were members of American Legion Post 87. Military honors were conducted by Post 87.
Carl Theodore Anderson was born in Carlos township, Douglas County on Dec. 3, 1890, son of Adolph and Caroline Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. His early youth was spent on the home farm in Carlos township and he also served in the Armed Forces in WWI. After his discharge from the Army he returned to Douglas county and purchased property on Lake Ida where he made his home for many years. The last years he has made his home with his sister, Hilda (Mrs. Harry Bedman) of Alexandria. He has been in ill health for several years and has spent much time in the Veterans hospital at Fargo, N.D.
Mr. Anderson passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Douglas county hospital at Alexandria at the age of 71 years and 7 days.
Surviving are four sisters: Edith (Mrs. Jack Smith) of Parkers Prairie; Mrs. Alma Mathews of Minneapolis; Hilda (Mrs. Harry Bedman) of Alexandria and Frances (Mrs. Walter Affeldt) of Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
