Giles Murchison Tolar was born December 7, 1893 in Dillon County, South Carolina, one of ten children of James Murchison "Merk" Tolar and Annie Laurie King Tolar. Murchison married Lillian Prevatte Tolar, and they had four children: Paul Tolar, Beulah Tolar Beavers, Charlie Tolar, and Inez Tolar Corriher. He died at age 64 on December 12, 1957 in Landis, Rowan County, North Carolina and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery near his wife in China Grove, Rowan County. I hope someone will add a photo of him.
