Perry Thompson Wells, son of James and
Marinda (Shrout) Wells, was born on
December 1, 1867 and departed this life
February 16, 1945 in the Marysville,
Kansas hospital after a week’s illness, at
the age of 77 years, 2 months and 15 days.

He was born in Bath County, Kentucky and
came to Kansas with his parents when he
was only 8 years of age and located in the
vicinity of Bigelow, Kansas and lived for
the past 45 years in Bigelow.

He never married and resided at the family
home with his sisters, Mary and Alice,
three brothers, Isaac, Henry and Jackson
all of whom together with another sister,
Mrs. Sally Jane Dennis, Sedalia, Missouri
and several nieces and nephews and other
relatives and friends.

“P.T.” as he was known was a kind and
thoughtful man. He was a great fisherman
and gardener and was always willing to
share with his friends.

He being the oldest of the family, felt the
responsibility to look after the home and
will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents,
and two brothers, Thomas R. Wells and
John M. Wells.

After a short funeral services with Reverend
Robert G. Anderson at the Padden Funeral
Home. His remains were laid to rest beside
his parents and two brothers in the little
country cemetery known as Wells Cemetery
southwest of Frankfort, Kansas.
