Mrs. Valerie Blackburn, 88, 11 Park Ave., died last night at Haverhill Manor Nursing Home.
She was born in Montreal, Canada, April 28, 1885, daughter of the late Moise and Valerie Durocher, and was the widow of Roland Blackburn. She lived in Haverhill 70 years and was a retired shoe worker and member of St. Joseph’s Parish.
She leaves a son, Robert Blackburn, Kingston, N.H.; a brother, Raoul Durocher, Metheun; three sisters, Mrs. Albert (Rose) Sayers, Mrs. Lionel (Blanche) Valcour and Mrs. Phillip (Yvonne) Dupuis, Haverhill; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

BLACKBURN – In this city, August 10, 1973, Mrs. Valerie (Durocher) Blackburn, a resident of 11 Park Ave., Haverhill, in her 88th year, wife of the late Roland Blackburn and the mother of Robert Blackburn, of Kingston, N.H. Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 8 o’clock at Scatamacchia-D’Amico Funeral Home, 358 Washington St. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church at 9 o’clock. Interment in Riverview Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friends and relatives invited.
