Richard Sailer, age 63 years, of Warren, Oregon, died at St. Helens, Oregon, on Wednesday, August 18, 1971. He had been ill for some time and had been hospitalized there for the last three weeks.

He was born March 12, 1908, north of Hazen, North Dakota, to Mr. and Mrs. Adam (Pauline Sailer) Sailer.
He attended Mercer County schools and grew up north of Hazen. He was never married.

He is survived by seven brothers: Tobias, William and Bernard of Pick City, North Dakota; Albert of Stanton, North Dakota; Eldor of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Edwin of Warren, Oregon; and Arthur of Milton-Freewater, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Norman (Bertha) Adams of Warren, Oregon, and Mrs. Harold (Helen) Ziemann of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

His parents, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Sailer farmed 15 miles north of Hazen until 1967, when he moved to Oregon.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 23, at 1:30 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Hazen, with Rev. Oliver Dewald officiating.

Interment was held at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Hazen.

Active pallbearers were Ernest Kessler, Arthur Lukins, Harold J. Miller, Gust Adolf, Richard Wittmayer, and Albert Rahn.

Honorary pallbearers were Reinold Wittmayer, Otto Kautzman, Philip Hornbacker, Ludwig Werner, Jacob Reinhardt and Arthur Horning.
