Robert was the third of seven children born to Filbert Frank Rimelspach and Margaret Mary Tracey, who married on 5 Nov 1909 in St. Mary's Church in Clyde, Sandusky County, Ohio. His siblings were Mary Louise (1909-1935), Norbert (1911-2008), Rita A. (b.1916), Gertrude R. (1918-2013), Ruth H. (b.1921), and William P. (b.1928).

Robert first appeared with his family on the 1920 Census, living in Ballville Township, Sandusky County, Ohio, where his father Filbert, aged 44, was farming for a living. Margaret, aged 33, was home with their five children--Mary, aged 10, Norbert, aged 8, Robert, aged 6, Rita, aged 3, and Gertrude, aged 1 year and 5 months.

The family was still living on the family's farm near Fremont when the 1930 Census was enumerated. Filbert, aged 53, was busy with the farm. Margaret, aged 43, would have had her hands full at home with their seven children--Mary, aged 20, Norbert, aged 18, Robert, aged 15, Rita, aged 13, Gertrude, aged 11, Ruth, aged 8, and William, aged 2.

Sadly, five years after that census, Robert's older sister Mary died at age 26 of heart failure.

I caught back up with the family in 1940. They were still in the same place. Filbert, aged 64, was still farming. Margaret, aged 53, was keeping house. Still at home with their parents were Robert, aged 25 and doing some trucking work, Rita, aged 23, and William, aged 12.

Robert's brother Norbert had married Ila Marie Bartholomew on 5 Aug 1937 at St. Anne's Church in Fremont. Robert's sister Gertrude had become a nun with the Ursuline Convent of the Sacred Heart, asuming the name Sister Francis Assisi. I couldn't find Ruth that census year but she married Robert Gibson Harrison on 29 Dec 1943.

Five years after that census, Robert married Adeline R. Kadler on 22 Nov 1945 in Sandusky County, Ohio. The following year, they welcomed the first of their five children, son Thomas Harry "Remy", born on 5 Aug 1946. Daughter Janet followed on 28 May 1948, followed by son James "Jim" Robert on 12 Sep 1950, son David in 1955, and daughter Carol Ann on 11 Feb 1958.

Robert lived to age 70, departing this world on 20 Feb 1984.
