SALEM - Daugherty, Louis Raymond Jr., 89, died Wednesday June 18, 2014 at the Green Valley Care Center in New Albany, IN.

He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Salem. He was born December 25, 1924 in Lebanon, KY.

Survivors include: three sons, eight daughters, a sister, two brothers, 25 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Matilda Spalding Daugherty; parents, Louis and Irene Hamilton Daugherty; two brothers, Clifton and Charles "Pete" Daugherty; and three sisters, Florence Bott, Gladys Thomas and Collette Schickel.

The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Patrick Catholic Church. Viewing will be Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the Hughes-Taylor Funeral in Salem, and Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be at the St. Patrick's Cemetery.
