DAUGHERTY - Charles H. "Pete," 78, passed away Monday, August 4, 2008. He was a native of Raywick, KY, a retired truck driver for Fall City Brewing Co., where he worked 27 years, a retired Sheriff from Jefferson County, and a former bail bondsman for the City of Shively. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #220 and a member of Ascension Parish and it's 50 Something Club. He was preceded in death by sister, Florence Bott. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, the former Mary Kathleen Medley; his daughters, Cathy Thomas (Greg), Paula Metzger (Mike), and Diane Kemper (Mark); one son, Steve Daugherty (Randi); 10 grandchildren, Leslie Kleinholter (Michael), Brian & Kurt Kemper, Chad & Kyle Thomas, Matthew, Andrew & Jared Metzger and Colby & Addison Daugherty; two great-grandchildren, Kemper & Kelly Kleinholter; brothers, Clifton, L.R., Harold & Joe Paul Daugherty; and sisters, Gladys Thomas, Cecilia Spalding and Colette Schickel. A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Ascension, 4600 Lynnbrook Dr., with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Friday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., with a prayer service to be held at 4 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hosparus.
