Jane Elder was the oldest daughter of George Elder and Christian Hosie. She married John White on June 8, 1816. To this union were born ten children: Jeanette, John, Anna, Andrew, George, Margaret, Thomas, Christina, David and James G. She died in 1865 at the age of 63d.
