Funeral services for Charles Wiedenmann were held Wednesday, September 30, 1981, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona, with Pastor Harold O. Ward officiating.

Charles Peter Wiedenmann, the son of Mathew and Henrietta (Zummerman) Wiedenmann, was born March 12, 1894 in Allamakee County, rural Monona. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on March 15, 1936.

Charles attended the rural schools and was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Veterans of World War I. He farmed a number of years south of Monona and later was a carpenter in the Monona area.

On February 16, 1928, he was united in marriage to Clara Frye. To this union one son, Charles, Jr., was born.

Charles died Sunday, September 27, 1981, at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, having reached the age of 87 years 6 months 15 days. Preceeding him in death were h is parents; his wife, Clara, who died in 1947; a stepdaughter, Mildred Berns; three brothers, Hank, Matt and Fred; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Johanningmeier.
