Henrietta came to America in 1882 where she married Matthaus "Matt" Wiedenman on March 29, 1886 in Waukon, Allamakee County, Iowa. She became the mother of four children who lived to adulthood (three sons and one daughter) documented on this memorial page. Three sons died in infancy.

Henrietta's year of birth is questioned. The year 1853 is on her gravestone. Her obituary provides 1854. Other records indicate her birth as late as 1856.


HENRIETTA WIEDENMAN

Mrs. Henrietta Wiedenman was born in Soldin, Brandenburg, Germany on March 3, 1854, and passed away at the home of her son, Charles Wiedenman(n) on Wednesday, July 18, 1928.

She came to the United States on April 12, 1882 at the age of twenty eight and took up residence at Lansing, Iowa. After living there for a time she moved to Prairie du Chien, Wis. and then to McGregor, Iowa.

On March 29, 1886 she was united in marriage to Matthew Wiedenman at Waukon, Iowa and with her husband lived on a farm southwest of Monona, but later went back to the farm with her son passing the remaining years of her life there.

She is survived by two sons, Fred and Charlie Wiedenman, who are living five and one-half miles southwest of Monona, one daughter, Mrs. Wesley Johanningmeier of Monona, and ten grandchildren. Three children died in infancy and one son, Mathew, died at the age of thirty four.

For a time she attended the German Lutheran Church at Luana, Ia.

During the last years of her life when she needed attention and assistance of her children, they always stood ready with loving hand to aid her.

The funeral was held at the home of her daughters, Mrs. Wesley Johanningmeier, July 20th, at 10 A.M., Rev. R. W. Berg officiating.
