Well Known Oakland Botanist Passes Away
"Mrs. Emma C. Cunningham, well known botanist and artist of Oakland, died suddenly last night in Antioch (Contra Costa County), where she removed from here several years ago. She was in apparent good health until yesterday. She was a keen botanist and gained a reputation as a lecturer on that subject, delivering addresses before many Oakland Clubs.
Decedent is survived by her husband Charles Cunningham; Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Greer of Oakland, relatives of Mrs. Cunningham, received a telegram last evening announcing the sudden death. Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been announced."

Failure To Visit Fair Reveals Woman's Death
"Antioch - Apr 7 - The failure of Mrs. Cornelia Cunningham to keep an engagement with here sister at the Panama Pacific International Expo on Saturday led to the discovery of her body in her home in (should be on) Fourth Street yesterday.
When Mrs. Cunningham did not meet her sister, Mrs. R. H. Caven of Concord, at the appointed time and place, the latter became worried and endeavored to communicate with her. Failing in this, Mrs. Caven came to Antioch and found the body of her sister on the floor in the dining room. She had died of heart disease Saturday morning while preparing to go to San Francisco."

Gravesite Details

Most likely Emma is buried in the Jerome Bonaparte Greer plot, her father, the markers have been either stolen or they were wood and destroyed by the fire that swept through this cemetery.
