Cytha Lou Simpson, 77, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, in Shawnee.

She was born March 5, 1936, to Leonard and Hattie (Rhoton) Vail.

She married Willie Simpson on Nov. 18, 1955. They resided in Holdenville and made their permanent home in Shawnee in 1962.

Cytha worked for Southwestern Bell for over 30 years. She was a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneers.

She was an avid gardener and loved camping and the outdoors. She loved putting out hummingbird feeders so she could sit and watch the hummingbirds. She loved to cook for her family and making holiday dinners for them. She was famous for her pies and making many different kinds. Cytha was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law: John Donahoo; two brothers: Leonard Ray Vail and Ralph Dean Vail; two sisters: Krystine Aldridge and Imogene Cornelius; brother-in-law: Jack Wilbanks; and nephew: Donnie Epperley.

She is survived by three children: Gary Simpson and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, of Shawnee, Debbie Donahoo-Miller, of Branson, Mo., and Terry Simpson, of Shawnee; six grandchildren: Mikel John Miller, Jessica Dianne Miller, Brittany Dawn Collier, Amber Nicole Simpson, Hayley Nicole Simpson and Braden Garrett Simpson; three great-grandchildren: Madison McKenzie Miller, Raegan Avery-Lynn Miller and Jaxon Mikel Miller; four siblings: Virigina Bishop, Larry Vail, June Cousins and Floyd Vail; sister-in-law: Dorotha Wilbanks-Geren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
