Graveside services for former Hughes County resident Ralph Dean Vail, 64, of Wylie, Texas are to be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Holdenville Cemetery with Bill Robinson and Dane Robinson officiating. Mr. Vail passed away in Irving, Texas on Tuesday, October 26th, 2010. Pallbearers are Brian Cooper, Donny Epperley, Tim Epperley, Brandon Martindale, Pete Jones, Brent Bates, Gary Smith, and Anthony McKenzie. Ralph Dean Vail was born June 16, 1946 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Leonard Holden Vail and Hattie Mary (Rhoten) Vail. A veteran of the United States Navy during the Viet Nam era, Ralph served on the U.S.S. Prairie with his brothers. Ralph worked for himself in the construction business for many years. He enjoyed taking apart broken items and repairing them. Ralph liked to fish and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters. Preceding Ralph in death were his parents, Leonard and Hattie Vail; his brother, Ray Vail and a sister, Christine Aldridge. Surviving are daughter, Carla Cooper and her husband, Brian, of Wylie, Texas; a son, Marvin Vail, of Edgerton, Kansas; daughter, Janet Watts of Wichita, Kansas; sisters: Imogene Cornelius of Shelbyville, Texas; Virginia Bishop of Oklahoma City; Cythia Simpson of Shawnee; June Cousins of Holdenville; two brothers, Floyd Vail of Oklahoma City and Larry Vail of Santa Fe, Texas; and seven grandchildren: Savannah Vail and Sabrinah Cooper of Wylie, Texas; Devin Orlando, Brennan Vail, and Carson Vail, all of Edgerton, Kansas; and Lisha and Ashlee Watts of Wichita, Kansas.
