Hattie Vail
Hattie Mary Vail of Oklahoma City passed away Friday, March 7, 1997 at the age of 89.
She was born in West Plains, Missouri on September 12, 1907 to Frank and Lucy (Martin) Rhoten. She came to Oklahoma in 1915 and married Leonard Vail on March 1, 1929. He preceded her in death 10 May 1973.
Mrs. Vail was a retired nurse at the Holdenville General Hospital. She was a member of the Allen Pentecostal Church and attended the South United Pentecostal Church in Oklahoma City.
She is survived by five daughtes: Imogene Cornelius and husband , Bob of Haxley, Tx., Virginia Bishop and husband, Clarence of Oklahoma City, Krystine Aldridge of Mid West City, Cytha Lou Simpson and husband, Willie of Shawnee, and June Cousins of Holdenville: three sons, Larry Vail and wife, Bernice of Galveston, TX., Floyd Vail of Oklahoma city, and Ralph Vail of Wylie, Tx.; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great- grandchildren.
Also one sister, Dora Johnson of Holdenville; 2 brothers, Floyd Rhoten of Rogers, AR. , and Gus Rhoten of Wewoka.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Vail, who died May 10, 1973 and by one son Leonard Ray Vail.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Hudson-Phillips Chapel with Rev. R.D. Whalen officiating and Erb. Jerry Stacy assisting. Burial will be in holdenville Cemetery under direction of hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
