LELA VENETA HOUSE

Lela Veneta House, 86, was born July 26, 1908 in Dallas County, the daughter of Arthur Breshears and Helen Carter Breshears. She died Saturday, July 30, 1994, in Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.

She was a retired school teacher and had attended Southwest Baptist College, which is now Southwest Baptist University. She had lived in Bolivar for more than 40 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Bolivar. Her husband was Jesse W House, who died in July 1983.

Survivors include one brother, Kenneth Breshears of Lancaster, Texas; a sister, Orlena Woodruff of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Helen Breshears of Bolivar; two sons-in-law, Harold Pottenger of DeSoto, Texas, and Leon Gullet of St. Clair; two granddaughters, Diane Pottenger Watson of Duncanville, Texas and Kathleen Pottenger Herman of Silver Spring, MD.; and three great-granddaughters.

Services were Tuesday, Aug. 2, at First Baptist Church of Bolivar with the Rev. Ray Leininger officiating. Music was provided by Ray Herman and David Watson, accompanied by William Brown. Pallbearers were Bill Breshears, Ronnie Richards, David Bolton, Mark Tappmeyer, Joe House and Tom Padgett. Interment was in Payne Cemetery, north of Bolivar.
