She was born on Dec. 14, 1938, at Bolivar, daughter of Lela Breshears House and the late Jesse William House. On June 27, 1959, she was united in marriage to Leon E. Gullet at the First Baptist church, Bolivar.

Surviving are her husband, Leon, of St. Clair; her mother, Lela House of Bolivar, one sister, Patsy Pottenger of Bolivar; her mother and father-in-law, Estle and Gertie Gullet of St. Clair; two sisters-in-law, Jenell Gullet of Warrenton and Glenda Kliethermes of Florissant; two brothers-in-law, Harold Pottenger of Bolivar and Anthony Kliethermes of Florissant; nieces; one nephew; aunts, uncles, cousins; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father Jesse William House and two brothers, Donald Lee and Deryll William House.

Willodean accepted Christ as her Savior on Oct. 2, 1946, and was baptized on Oct. 20, 1946, at the First Christian Church, Bolivar. She moved her church membership from Bolivar to the First Baptist Church, Springfield, while attending college. He was later united in fellowship with the First Baptist Church, St. Clair, on Nov. 12, 1958, where she remained a member until the Lord called her Home.

Willodean received her education from the Bolivar Public Schools, Associate in Arts Degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, and the Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Southwest Missouri State University. While attending college at Southwest Baptist, she was crowned "Miss Southwest" and receive the "Life Beautiful" award for being the outstanding Christian girl on the campus. She also served as a summer missionary to New Mexico for the Missouri Baptist Convention between college semesters.

Willodean moved to St. Clair in September 1958 to teach in the public schools. She started the Public School Kindergarten program and remained in that capacity until May, 1983. During the later years of teaching, some of the pupils she had taught were bringing their children to kindergarten, so in effect she was teaching the second generation. She was nominated for the "Outstanding Elementary Teacher of America" award and the Distinguished Teacher Award, and was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association. Of all the awards, Willodean received on earth, none was as great as the free gift of salvation received from Jesus Christ.

A kind and loving wife, daughter, sister, niece, and a treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. "Praise God," Willodean has been promoted.

Funeral services were held at 2 PM Sunday, Nov. 13, 1983, at the First Baptist church with the Rev. Milo Haynes and the Rev. Frank Childers officiating. Interment was in the Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair. Arrangements were by Russell Colonial Funeral Home.
