Margaret was the 11th child of Archibald and Jane Upton Lee. She married Richard J. Rucker on March 23, 1868 in Macoupin County, IL. They had a daughter who died in infancy and a son Chauncey Oscar born Dec. 31, 1870. The family later moved to Pawnee County, KS where Virginia died. They lived in Brown's Grove. Virginia died of TB. Her sister, Eliza Brodmarkle of Greenfield, IL went to KS to take care of her and took little Chauncey with her when she returned home. Virginia was first buried in Brown's Grove Cemetery in Jetmore, Hodgeman County, KS but was later removed to Litchfield, IL probably in the Elmwood Cemetery.
