Mrs. Alma M Challand, 80, of 149 S. View street, Hinckley, Public Hospital, at 7:05 am in the DeKalb public hospital, after several years of failing health.
She was born in Clinton township May 11, 1888. the daughter of August C. and Minnie Melhorn Baie. She attended Waterman School and was married in February, 1909 to Charles Henry Challand.

She has been a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, The Woman's Build and the Royal Neighbors of America. She had lived in the Hinckley are most of her life.

Surviving are a son, Wayne B Challand of Hinckley; two brothers, Clarence Baie of Waterman and Marvin Baie of DeKalb; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Ester) Dowden of Grand Detour. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1951; a brother and a sister.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Saturday from the St. Paul United Church of Christ. The Rev. Carl H Wilhelm officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
