Mrs. A. C. Baie passed away at her home in Hinckley at 3:15 o’clock this Wednesday morning (April 2, 1952) following a serious illness of two weeks.

Mrs. Baie, who would have been 83 this June, was widely known in this community where she was active in the work of St. Paul’s Church. She was home loving and cared tirelessly for her family. She was a member of the Hinckley Camp of the Royal Neighbors.

Minnie Baie was born June 17, 1869 in Saxony, Germany, daughter of August and Fredericka (Singer) Melhorn. January 5, 1888 she was united in marriage with A. C. Baie in Aurora and the couple lived in Hinckley for 26 years. Mr. Baie died in 1944.

Surviving are three sons, Everette of Hinckley, Marvin at home and Clarence of Waterman; two daughters, Mrs. Alma Challand of Waterman and Esther at home; five grandchildren, one of whom is in Korea; two great grandchildren; and one brother, Max of Batavia. A daughter preceded her in death in 1918.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, April 4, from St. Paul’s Evangelical Church, the Rev. L. G. Weber officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the late residence after noon this Thursday.
