He was born on May 6, 1903, in DeKalb County, the son of the late August and Minnie (Melhorn) Baie.
His survivors include one brother, Clarence of Waterman; and one sister Mrs. Esther R. Doeden of Oregon.
Graveside services were held Nov 26, 1977, at the Greenwood Cemetery, Hinckley, with the Rev. Philip Nystrand officiating.
Arrangements were handled by the Nash Chapel in Waterman.
