She married Wendell A. Doeden on July 12, 1959 in Waterman, and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1977. She attended DeKalb County schools and graduated from Hinckley High School in 1924. She received a B.S. in education from Northern Illinois State Teachers College in 1944. She taught in DeKalb County, IL as well as being Principal of Batavia, IL. Elementary and then at Big Rock, IL Elementary. She retired in 1964 after 40 years of teaching ending in the Dixon, IL school system at Grand Detour, IL Elementary.
She was a member of the St. Pauls United Church of Christ in Hinckley, IL since 1920, also the L.C.W. Lutheran Christian Women and the Illinois Retired Teachers Association.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1977; two sisters, Alma Challano and Mildred Baie; three brothers, Everett, Marvin and Clarence.
Surviving are a nephew, Clare (Joan) Baie and three nieces, June (Bob) Creed, Loa Jane Jacobsen and Myrtis McAllister, as well as several great and great great nieces and nephews and many friends and special friend, Rebecca Colby.
Funeral services for Mrs. Doeden will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon, IL at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will take place at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
