Homer Geneva Overby died June 8 1933 in Turner County, Georgia at the age of 4 years old, 10 months, and 11 days due to malaria. Her first name was in honor of her uncle. She went by the name Geneva. She was the daughter of Charles Henry Overby and Ila B. Kimbro Overby. She was born July 8, 1928. She had two other siblings: sister Evelyn Addie Overby and Charles David Overby.

Her mother, Ila Belle Overby died at the age of 22 only four days after giving birth to her her younger brother, Charles David. Her father moved her and her two siblings in with his sister, Addie Velma Overby Young as evident by the 1930 Federal Census. Her father then moved them to Amboy, Turner County, Georgia to be close to his own father who had moved there with his family temporarily after deaths of their own children.

Geneva died in Rebecca, Turner County, Georgia. She was buried the day she died at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
