WAGNER – On May 26, 1969, at 8:40 p.m., at his residence, York RD 5, Roy J. Wagner Sr., husband of Julia Warren Wagner, aged 71 years and 2 months.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Baumeister and Orcutt Colonial Mortuary, South Queen and Jackson streets. Interment in St. Paul’s (Dubs’) Church Cemetery, near Hanover.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the mortuary Wednesday from 7 till 9 p.m.

Roy J. Wagner Sr.

Roy J. Wagner Sr., 71, husband of Mrs. Julia Warren Wagner, York RD 5, died at 8:40 p.m. Monday at his home.
He had retired from the State Highways Department on May 3.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, a life member of Liberty Fire Company, North York, and the Eagle Fire Company, York, and was a member of the Firemen’s Relief Association and the Wago Club.
He was born near Spring Grove, son of the late Jacob and Clara Gibbons Wagner.
Surviving also are two sons, Roy J. Wagner Jr., 1333 W. Philadelphia St., and Robert L. Wagner, York RD 9; two daughters, Mrs. Janet Fink, 252 Walnut St., and Mrs. Betty Staley, 725 Susquehanna Ave.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Bassett, Memphis, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Wagner, 2711 Crestview Drive, and Norman Wagner, Spring Grove RD 2; and seven sisters, Mrs. Minerva Strausbaugh, York RD 6; Mrs. Sarah Jones, 1432 W. Philadelphia St.; Mrs. Emma Thoman, Glen Rock RD 1; Mrs. Elsie Glatfelter, Glen Rock RD 2; Mrs. Margie Wolf, Harrisburg; Mrs. Abbie Wallick, 269 W. Cottage Place, and Mrs. Alta Trone, Altoona.
The Rev. Ronald G. VanBlargen, associate pastor of Christ Church, will officiate at the funeral at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Baumeister and Orcutt Colonial Mortuary, South Queen at Jackson Street. Burial will be in St. Paul’s (Dub’s) Church Cemetery, near Hanover.
