Born Jan. 5, 1927, in Winfield, she was the daughter of the late Howard Lee Bair Sr. and Mamie Barnes Bair.
She was the wife of Herman "Pete" Fleming, her husband of 58 years.
Before retiring, she worked for the former Carroll County Bank & Trust Company.
She was a 1944 graduate of Mount Airy High School. After graduation she worked in the Westminster Nursing Office until 1948.
She was a member of the Church of the Open Door, serving in various capacities, including Sunday School. She was a member of the Super Sixties, volunteer for Carroll County General Hospital Auxiliary and longtime volunteer in the hospital gift shop.
She was also a volunteer for American Heart Association, and was a book judge for the Carroll County Election Board.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters and sons-in-law Faye Lynn and James A. Hughes Sr. of Orlando, Fla. and Terri Beth and Phillip Myers of Westminster.
She is also survived by sisters Aileen Barnhart and Janet Miller, both of Westminster; brothers Sterling Bair and Melvin Bair Sr., both of Westminster; grandchildren James A. Hughes Jr. and his wife Roxanne and Jeremy Hughes, all of Orlando, Fla., and Ryan and Meghan Myers, both of Westminster; and great-granddaughter Lauren Hughes of Orlando.
She was preceded in death by sisters Julia M. Wagner, Evelyn Haines, Carrie Fleming, Beatrice Fleming, Gladys Bair and Helen Winters; and brothers George and Howard L. Bair Jr.
Funeral services were held at the Church of the Open Door. Interment was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
