Aileen B. Barnhart, 91 of Westminster, Maryland passed away on June 3, 2016 at Golden Crest Assisted Living.

Born August 1, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Howard Lee Bair, Sr. and Mamie Barnes Bair. Mrs. Barnhart graduated from Mt. Airy High School in 1941, and after graduating from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) in 1945, she proudly taught at Winfield Elementary School where she had attended classes in her youth. Her true devotion, however, was as a homemaker dedicated to raising her family. She will be remembered as a person of great kindness, strong faith, and unconditional love to those closest to her.

Mrs. Barnhart was a member of the Westminster Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Aileen was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Paul L. Barnhart left to cherish her memory – as they do her late husband’s are their eldest daughter, Paula L. Crispin and husband David Crispin, of Westminster, MD. Son Stephen C. Barnhart and wife Debra, of Finksburg, Maryland and daughter Karen B. Stoedter and husband, William, of Milton, DE. Granddaughters, Shannon C. Hall and husband Brian of Enfield, ME and Heather L. Smeltzer and husband, Aaron of Bellefonte, PA. and great grandchildren, Lily, Mayzie and Innora Hall, of Enfield ME, who affectionately referred to her as Gigi. She is also survived by a sister, Janet R. Miller of Westminster, and brother-in-law and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Aileen was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Gladys Bair, Helen Winters, Evelyn Haines, Julia Wagner, Beatrice Fleming, Carrie Fleming, George Bair, Howard Bair, Jr., Sterling Bair, Melvin D. Bair and Bette Fleming.

The family extends their gratitude for the wonderful care provided to Aileen from all her caregivers at Golden Crest, and especially thankful she was able to remain in their care during her most difficult days.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday June 7, 2016 11:00 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A. 254 E Main St. Westminster with Gerry Etzler officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
