Martha Elizabeth Barnett Stroud was born on April 20, 1889 in Lick Creek to William Henry and Mary Etta Haliburton McCoy. Her siblings include Ione Jones of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Ivo Manson of Murphysboro and Ava Ford of Pekin.
She married John G. Barnett; he preceded her in death on December 23, 1963. She later married Fred Stroud. Survivors include her husband of Murphysboro and children, Forrest Barnett of Cahokia, Dallas Barnett of Zeigler, Dean Barnett of Murphysboro, and Gloria Calvert of Murphysboro. She was preceded in death by two daughters and a son.
Mrs. Stroud died at the age of 92 in the Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro.
