ERMA EKIS - Funeral services for Erma (Lacy) Ekis, 78, 1020 Willow, who died Wednesday, April 15, 1987, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Dengel and Son Mortuary with Rev. Clyde Greisen officiating, Burial will be at Hope Cemetery. Born Dec. 27, 1908, at Kansas City, Kan., she married Ed Kiser in 1926 at Lawerence. She later married Otto Ralph Ekis June 28, 1932, at Chicago, Ill. He died May 22, 1960. She moved to Ottawa in 1960 from Chicago. She was a homemaker and during World War II was employed at a defense plant at Texarkana, Texas. She was a member of the United Brethren Church of Peoria. Survivors include two sisters, Alta Jane McCain, 1701 Princeton Road, and Margaret Bittenbendr, Ottawa RFD 3; Bill Lacy, Tipton, Ind.: five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call this evening and until the service hour at the Dengel and Son Mortuary, where the family will meet with friends from 5-6 p.m., Friday. - The Ottawa Herald, Ottawa, Kansas April 16, 1987, page 3, columns 2 and 3.
