Nancy was the eighth born of sixteen children to Heman Hurlburt (1773-1853) and Hannah Mosher (Mosier) (1780-1857). Her grandfather Moses Hurlburt Jr. was a United Empire Loyalist, having fought with General Bourgoynes Army in 1777, the King's Rangers, and also part of British Intelligence in 1776. Nancy lived with her parents past the age of forty. She married Emery Blanchard and lived in Greenbush near Brockville, Ontario.
