Mary Armstrong
Mary Elizabeth Austin Armstrong, 87, of E. Main Street, Grafton, died Feb. 16, 2001.
She was born Sept. 4, 1913, in Taylor County, daughter of the late James William Austin and Dessie May Shaffer Austin.
She retired as a sewing machine operator of Grafton Apparel Co., and was a member of Taylor County Senior Citizens and St. John's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons and spouses, Howard J. and Sue Armstrong, and Junior A. and Patricia Armstrong, all of Grafton; a daughter and spouse, Mary Ruth and James Henderson, of Grafton; two sisters, Martha Shreve, of Huntington Park, Calif., and Alice May Austin, of Morgantown; three grandsons; four granddaughters; 10 great-grandsons; and six great-granddaughters.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert H. "Shorty" Armstrong, on April 25, 1989; four brothers, Hector, Lawrence, Paul and Alfred Austin; a granddaughter; and a sister, Rosie Lenora Brown.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, Grafton, from 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Service will be 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 19, with the Rev. Mr. H. Edgar Suite officiating. Burial will follow in Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery.
