Anna Geline Haugtvedt (Mrs. Harold Forsness) was born Februrary 13, 1906 to Syver and Gina (Pederson) Haugtvedt in Deer Township, Roseau County, MN. She grew up in rural Greenbush, attended Gavick Country School in rural Greenbush, and graduated from Middle River High School. She attended Moorhead State Teacher's College and was a graduate of Mayville State Teacher's College. She was united in marriage to Harold Forsness on July 7, 1940 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Greenbush. Following their marriage, she taught school for 25 years in rural Minnesota and North Dakota, as well as at Greenbush. She also farmed with her husband.

Anna passed away Thursday September 17, 1987 at the Greenbush Community Hospital at age 81. Funeral services were held on September 21, 1987 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush. Interment was at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery.

She is surved by her husband Harold; two daughters: Paulette (Mrs. Wallace Melby) Greenbush, and Mangeline Forsness of Wadena, MN; one brother Palmer Haugtvedt and two sisters: Mabel of St Petersburg, Florida, and Minnie (Mrs. Walter) Thomas of Thief River Falls, MN; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and six sisters.
