Mrs. Augusta Bramstedt Is Called To Rest Early Today
Howards Grove -- Mrs. Augusta Bramstedt, 77, died today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Roehrborn, three miles north of Howards Grove, following a lingering illness. Mrs. Bramstedt, nee Augusta Grunewald, was born in Hohenselzer, Germany on March 12, 1853. Her marriage with Henry Bramstedt was solemnized on June 4, 1876 at the Lutheran Trinity church in Howards Grove by Rev. Wuebben. The family lived in the town of Herman until 1921, after which they retired from active farm life and went to live with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roehrborn, where they lived their remaining years. Mr. Bramstedt preceded his wife in death during May 1928. That Mrs. Bramstedt's death is being mourned by many relatives and friends in this county and vicinity is due to her kindness. She was a loving mother and greatly devoted to her family. She was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran church in Herman township and was a highly respected citizen.
Those who survive her are nine children; Mrs. Henry Kuester, town Herman; Otto Bramstedt, Fond du Lac; Mrs. August Kueter, town Herman; William Bramstedt, Howards Grove; Martin Bramstedt, Alpha, Minnesota; Henry Bramstedt, town Herman; Mrs. Richard Kalk, Edwin Bramstedt and Mrs. Edwin Roehrborn, all of town Herman. Besides her four daughters and five sons, she leaves to mourn her death an adopted daughter, Mrs. Olga Fricke; thirty-three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Brendel, town of Herman and two brothers, William and Julius Grunewald, both of town Herman.
The funeral will be held at the Roehrborn home, north of Howards Grove and in The Lutheran Trinity Church, Howards Grove, Rev. Walter Kitzerow will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
