Mrs R. E. Bishop Dies Here Friday Afternoon

Mrs R. E. Bishop , 68, a resident of Shelton the past twelve years, died shortly before 6 o'clock Friday afternoon. She had been failing in health for six months and her condition became critical on Wednesday of last week when stricken with severe pains.
Onda Octava Snider [sic Snyder] was born in Green Castle, Mo, Oct 9, 1867and spent the early part of her life in that state. She was united in marriage to Royal E Bishop ln 1884 and to this union twelve children were born, eleven of whom survive .
Mr and Mrs Bishop moved with their family from Missouri to Boelus, Nebr in 1911 and lived at that place until 1924 when they came to Shelton and she has since resided here. Mr Bishop's death occurred here June 13, 1933, and an infant son preceded her in death.
The surviving children are: Mrs L E Medley, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs James Medley, Farnam, Nebr; Mrs Lonie Piffer and Mrs John Dimmitt, Green Castle, Mo; Mrs John Steel, Grand Island, Nebr; Mrs Edd Seery, St Michael, Nebr; Mrs Jack Casey, Shelton; Mrs Ed Lilly, Wood River; BC Bishop. Comstock. Nebr; M F Bishop, Kearney, and J P Bishop, Shelton. She also leaves 35 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs Bishop was baptized and joined the Baptist church while living in Missouri. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and leaves many relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
Brief funeral services in charge of Rev S M Snider, pastor of the United Brethren Church, were conducted here at the Amos Funeral home Monday morning, after which the body was taken overland to Boelus for burial alongside that of her husband.
Rev. H O Jochens, pastor of the Baptist church at Cairo, conducted the services at Boelus, last rites being at the M E church there.
