Eliza was born in Liberty, Adair, Missouri on 20 Nov 1861 to Hiram and Minerva (Shaw) Snyder. She was married to Justice Perrigo on 22 Feb 1882 in Adair County, Missouri. They had 3 children: Hiram, Angelina, and Johnathan.

After the death of her husband, she married William Fleenor on 16 Aug 1896 in Sullivan County, Missouri, a widower who had previously married and divorced her half-sister Mary Snyder. She was 34 and he was 52.

They moved to Grinnell, Kansas sometime before 1900. They had no children together. William died in Grinnell, Kansas when Eliza was 54. Though William is buried in the Scott County Cemetery in Kansas and her name is on the headstone, she is not buried there.

About 1918 she married recently widowed Earnest McDonald, a 38 year old who had 3 young children: John, Olive and Frank. She moved to Oakley, Kansas. Sometime between 1930 and 1935 they moved to Rio Grande, Colorado. According to James Byron Huffman, she was living in Nunn, Weld, Colorado after that time. It is unknown when she died.
