Emma Rella Eitel, 81, a resident of Sheridan Lake for the past 12 years, died at Welsbrod Memorial Hospital in Eads, Colorado, at 11:50p.m. Thursday, April 26, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Eitel was born in Greencastle, Missouri, January 2,1881, and was the daughter of Hiram and Elizabeth Snyder. She was baptized into the Baptist Church as a child.

She was united in marriage to Elijah Elias Eitel, May 22,1898, at Pure Air, Missouri. To this union was born eight children. A baby daughter and a son, Gail preceded her in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Eitel moved from Missouri to Grigston, Kansas in 1909, where Mr. Eitel was engaged in farming and ranching. In 1950 they moved to Sheridan Lake community.

Survivors include her husband, Elijah Eitel of the family home; three sons, Murl Eitel and Orval Eitel of Scott City, Kansas, and Howard Eitel of Sheridan Lake; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Kvasnicka of Colorado Springs, Mrs. Lillie Oakes of Detroit, Michigan, and Mrs. Eva Rabourn of Rangely, Colorado; a brother, R. M. Snyder of Garden City Kansas; 12 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church at Scott City, Kansas, April 30, 1962, at 2:00 pm. Services were conducted by E. W. Von Busch,minister of the church. Hyland Steele sang “Good Night and Good Morning” and “Beyond the Sunset”, accompanied by Mrs.Ruby Wilkins. Casket bearers were her grandson, Lloyd Eitel, Marvin Eitel, Harry Steele and Vernie Harris.

Interment was in the Scott City cemetery with Duggan-Dolsen Mortuary of Lamar, Colorado in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Monday for Mrs. E. E. Eitel

Mrs. E. E. Eitel, well-known resident of Scott County from1909 until 1947, died Friday in a hospital at Eads where she had been critically ill for several weeks. The family home is at Sheridan Lake, where she and Mr. Eitel had moved from Scott County 15 years ago.

Funeral services were held from the Scott City Baptist church Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, in charge of the pastor, Rev. E. W. Von Busch. Interment was in the Scott County Cemetery.

Emma R. daughter of Elizabeth and Hiram Snyder, was born Jan. 2, 1881 in Adair County, Mo. On May22, 1898 she was united in marriage to Elijah E. Eitel at Pure Air, Mo., and to this union eight children were born. Two of the children preceded their mother in death.

In 1909 the family moved to eastern Scott County where they lived for many years across the highway south of Grigston. In 1947 Mr. and Mrs. Eitel moved to Sheridan Lake where they made their home since.

Survivors include the widower, of the home; three daughters,Mr.s Ben (Gladys) Kvasnicka, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Bud (Lillie) Oaks Detroit; and Mrs. Tom (Eva) Raybourn, Rangley, Colo.; three sons, Howard,Sheridan Lake, Colo., Murl and Orval, both of Scott City; a brother Dick Snyder, Garden City; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
