Funeral services for Mrs. Rosia Alford, age 74, were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 17, from the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. James Edwards and Rev. Arzone Burns officiating.

Mrs. Alford passed away on Sunday [November 16] at the Scott County Nursing Home in Morton following a lengthy illness. She was a native of Rankin County, and a resident of Route 3, Morton, having lived most of her life in Scott County. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include, three sons, Bernard Alford, Jackson, S.J. Alford, Harlem, Ga., and Arthur Neal Alford, Morton; five daughters, Mrs. Annie Bell Fitzhugh, Ludlow, Mrs. Wyvone Harrison, Lake, Mrs. Nellie Shaw, Forest, Mrs. Irene Steinwinder, Pearl, and Mrs. Necie Gaye Crapps, Ludlow; two brothers, Frank E. Slade, Lena, and Joseph Slade, Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Goodson, Forest; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were David Fitzhugh, Charles Ray Alford, Ronnie McMillan, Edwin Harrison, Royce Shaw, and Robert Lee Shaw.

Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Morton was in charge of arrangements.
