Murphy H. Basinger

COTTON VALLEY - Murphy H. Basinger, 66, of Cotton Valley died Thursday morning at his residence after a sudden illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bailey Mortuary Chapel in Cotton Valley with the Rev. Frank Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in Cotton Valley Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Gray Basinger of Cotton Valley; two daughters, Juanita Bright of Springhill and Martha Russell of Downsville; two sons, Tommy Swate and David Swate, both of Houston; four sisters, Carolyn Palmer of Sarepta, Joyce Boyett of Bossier City, Margie Burks of Ivan and Florence Morgan of Minden; six brothers, Gene Basinger of Malvern, Ark., Billy Basinger and Leo Basinger, both of Houston, James Frank Basinger Jr. of Smackover, Ark., Carl Basinger of Sarepta and John D. Basinger of Cotton Valley; and seven grandchildren.
