Clara Lambertz was born in Millerville Township, August 12, 1892, the daughter of Cornelius and Pauline Schmidt. She attended school and grew to womanhood in this community. On May 9, 1916 she was united in marriage to John A. Lambertz at Millerville. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Lambertz farmed in Douglas County until their retirement when they moved to Alexandria, Minnesota. Mrs. Lambertz was a member of the Christian Mothers.
She passed away at the Bethany Home in Alexandria, Minnesota, June 4, 1974 at the age of 81 years. She is survived by one son and eight daughters: Roman Lambertz of Minneapolis; Grace (Mrs. Alois Korkowski) of Brandon; Mary (Mrs. Clayton Hanil) of Minneapolis; Elmira (Mrs. Fred Pauly) of Belle Plaine, Minnesota; Flavia (Mrs. Gordon Jones) of Alexandria; Veronica (Mrs. James Floding) of Alexandria; Theresa (Mrs. Clarence Lehn) of Brandon; Corrine (Mrs. Mike Povick) of Hibbing, Minnesota; Shirley (Mrs. Bill Kokotovick) of St. Paul, Minnesota; also surviving are forty-four grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; one brother, Frank Schmidt of Minneapolis and one sister, Helen Jesnoski of Crestview Nursing Home in Evansville, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969 and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were June 8, 1974 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alexandria, Minn., with Rev. Arthur Hoppe, officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota.
