Grace Korkowski, a lifelong resident of the Millerville area, was born on July 22, 1918 to John and Clara (Schmidt) Lambertz. She was united in marriage on June 1, 1937 to Aloys Korkowski who survives her. She was active in her church, serving in the St. Catherine's Mission group, Christian Mothers and the choir. Grace enjoyed homemaking activities including baking, quiltin, and tending her flowers. She was also a member of the Millerville Senior Citizens.
Grace died at the Crestview Manor in Evansville on November 27, 1991 at the age of 73 years. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Millerville on Monday, December 2, 1991 with Reverend Wilfred Lambertz, Reverend Eugene Lemm, Reverend Jim Thoennes and Reverend Lawrence Botz officiating. Pallbearers were Rick Korkowski, Joe Korkowski, Paul Korkowski, tom Korkowski, Jim P. Korkowski and Troy Magnuson. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren, great grandchildren and the Millerville Senior Citizens.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Flavia Jones, and three grandchildren. Besides her husband, Aloys, she is survived by 13 children: Dennis and Christella of Brandon; Siser Cordella, O.S.F. of Anoka; James and Judi of Brandon; Clifford and Beverly of Winona; Norbert of Brandon; Flavia and Ron Magnuson of Maple Grove; David and Cindy of Dayton; Gerald and Joanne of Chaska; Theresa and Derald Krentz of Dayton; Rose Mary and Bob Peterson of Alexandria; Annette and Allen O'Donnel of Evansville; Michael and Mary Lee of Brandon; Mark and Jennifer of Wadena; one brother: Roman Lambertz of Lamberton; sisters: Mary Revering of Minneapolis; Elmira Pauley of Minneapolis; Veronica Floding of Helena, Montana; Theresa Lehn of Brandon; Corrine Povich of Hibbing; Shirley Kokotovich of St. Paul; 42 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Anderson Funeral Home of Alexandria.
