Norene was the daughter of John Elijah Alexander and Minnie Lee (Oates) Alexander.
She married Monroe D. Canon on July 6, 1924, in Polk County, Texas.
They had five sons and one daughter that lived to adulthood. Their oldest daughter, Nelva Laverne, died eight hours after birth.
