—————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Glen Canon married into the McWilliams
family and the funeral business. He had two great mentors in that business, Gertrude and Alton McWilliams. Glen fell right in and went to work. The folks in the Waller area began to like and put their trust in Glen as they had trusted Gertrude and Alton. You don’t think about it until it happens but when your turning over a love one to be prepared for burial and you want to feel like they will be treated with all the care that one can expect. Glen was that kind of a person to respect the wishes of the family.

Glen learn this early on in his career and he handled it in great style. When you met him anywhere you see a smile on his face and good word on his lips for you. You liked him immediately with his demeanor. It seems to everyone that he was a long time friend.

Glen was a fisherman. He loved to fish. He fished with lot of the men around Waller and of course Alton and Mr. I.T. Holloman, the Superintendent of Waller Schools.

Even after he retired he still showed his love of the people in Waller. Glen loved the Lord and didn’t mine sharing his faith with you.

Glen requested of Brother Blake that at the end of his service that everyone stand and hug someone. It happened just like he wanted.

I’m proud to have called him my friend. He handed my folks and we could not have been more pleased.

Well done that good and faithful servant: Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
