Mrs. LaMay died at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, May 5, in the Stark County Health Center, Toulon.
She was born in Princeville Township on April 27, 1881, the daughter of Jackson and Ellen Armstrong Leaverton. She married Ernest LaMay on Jan. 16, 1906 in Monica. He died in May 1949. Mrs. LaMay had resided in Leisure Hills Health Center, Kewanee, before moving to the Stark County facility in 1978.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Lois) Higgs of Princeville, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd, a granddaughter, a brother and four sisters.
Mrs. LaMay, who had taught piano for a number of years, was a member of White’s Grove Baptist Church.
