Funeral Services For Lloyd LaMay Are Held Tuesday
Funeral services fro Lloyd LaMay of Monica were conducted by Rev. Ralph Walters Tuesday afternoon in the Bouton Memorial Home in Princeville. Mrs. Hayden Cooper was the organist.
Mr. LaMay was laid to rest in the Princeville cemetery. Pallbearers were John Yess, Robert Smith, Orville Smith, Glenn Sniff, Cecil Stubbs and James DeBord. Honorary pallbearers ere W. R. Cordis, O. D. Gingrich, Phillip DeWulf and Clarence Ramshaw of Elmwood, John Splanger of Eureka and Alvan Peterson of Andover.
He was born October 15,1913 in Monica, the son of Ernest and Mabel Leaverton LaMay and passed away in the Methodist hospital in Peoria, Saturday afternoon, December 8, following a short illness. He had spent his entire life in the Monica community. He was engaged in farming until a few years ago. He was united in Marriage to Miss Edna Teets of Princeville September 27, 1934.
He was a member of the White's Grove Baptist church, director of the National Farm Loan Association and was secretary of Princeville Community high school board. He was office manager of the Peoria Agriculture Stabilization Conservation office in Peoria since 1953.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter Sharlene at home; his mother, Mrs. Mabel LaMay of Monica; and one sister, Mrs. Lois Higgs of Monica; and a host of other relatives and friends.
His father preceded him in death in 1949.
