Mildred O. Applegate, 75, of Claysville, died Tuesday, August 16,1994, in Guernsey Memorial Hospital, Cambridge, Ohio.

She was born September 25, 1918, in Claysville, a daughter of William Harrison and Sylvia Scott Mounts.

Mrs. Applegate was a member of Claysville United Methodist Church.

She attended Dutch Fork School. She was a cook in local restaurants, worked at Hillsview Personal Care Home, performed domestic duties for several local homes and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Applegate enjoyed baking, sewing and gardening and was a member of Claysville Senior Citizens Center.

On April 1, 1944, in Claysville, she married Harry Applegate, who died May 2,1978.

Surviving are one son, John D. Applegate of Canton, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Frank D. (Martha B.) Logsdon, of Claysville and Rebecca R. Applegate, of Wheeling, W.Va.; three brothers Cephas Stanley Mounts of Taylorstown, and Sherman and Dean Mounts,
both of Claysville; two sisters, Martha Mounts Rinehart of Claysville and Louise Mounts Breese of Pleasant Grove; eight grandchildren, Ray, Bill and Jeff Logsdon, DeniseTharp, Jennifer, Shane and Amy Applegate and Kevin McKenzie; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three brothers Williams, Charles and Melvin Mounts.

Interment will be in Claysville Cemetery, Claysville, Pennsylvania.
