J. J. WOLFE ANSWERS SUMMONS
Death early Wednesday evening, claimed John J. Wolfe of this place following a two weeks illness.
Mr. Wolfe had been in good health and continued his active work until about two weeks ago, when he suffered a paralytic stroke and his condition became critical at once.
The deceased was born at Ottawa, Illinois, Nov. 3, 1869, moving to Iowa when a very small boy. He was married to Elizabeth O'Malley in 1894, living on a farm east of Pocahontas until 1918 when they moved to town where he has since resided.
He leaves to mourn, his wife and children, Leo of Dubuque, Frank of this place, Mrs. Arnold Murray of Emmetsburg, Mae, Alice, Robert and Lorraine at home, Cecil of Fort Dodge; besides the sorrowing widow and children he leaves two brothers and seven sisters, Ed of Malta, Mont.; Morris of Lytton, Iowa; Mrs. Joe Henneberry of Burns, Wyoming; Mrs. Wm. Stegge of Barnsville, Minn.; Mrs. Walter Spence of Rolfe, Iowa; Miss Cecelia Wolfe of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Mrs. John Alberts, Mrs. H. C. Goodyear and Mrs. Agnes Doyle of this place.
The funeral services were held at nine o'clock Saturday morning from Sacred Heart church. The esteem in which he was held was shown by the many friends who attended the services.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral were, E. F. Wolfe of Malta, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Henneberry, Chas. O'Malley of Olivia, Minn; Mr. Morris Monne of Omaha, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hartnett of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and Mr. O. L. McClain of Bryant, South Dakota.
